Individual Auditory-Verbal Therapy
One-on-one therapy targeting audition, speech, language, cognition, and communication through play, conversation, and everyday routines, with specialized support for families pursuing listening and spoken language and making the most of hearing devices.
Family Coaching & Parent Guidance
Auditory-verbal therapy is coaching, not just direct instruction. Caregivers are active participants in every session, learning the strategies, the wait time, and the language models that turn ordinary moments like snack, bath, and the car ride into listening practice.

Special education and developmental support
Hearing loss is one cause of language delay among many. The same certified instruction supports children with a range of other diagnoses and disabilities, as a direct therapy provider and inside schools.
Special Education Services
Individualized special education instruction for children whose disability affects language, learning, or access to the curriculum, including Down syndrome, cognitive delay, autism spectrum disorder, auditory processing disorder, speech and language disorders, and other diagnoses that result in language delay.
Available privately as direct therapy, and through school contracts.
Social and Emotional Skills
Explicit instruction and coaching in the skills that let a child join in: naming and regulating feelings, reading social cues, taking turns, repairing conversation breakdowns, building friendships, and self-advocacy.
Woven into every service rather than treated as separate, because communication and connection are the same project.
Birth to five
Developmental Special Instruction (DSI)
For our youngest learners, Hear Talk Grow provides Developmental Special Instruction across all developmental areas, not just communication.
- Communication and language. Receptive and expressive language, early vocabulary, play-based interaction, and pre-literacy.
- Cognitive development. Problem solving, cause and effect, attention, imitation, and early concepts.
- Social and emotional development. Joint attention, regulation, turn-taking, and secure caregiver connection.
- Gross and fine motor skills. Basic gross motor support and the fine motor foundations for play, feeding, and later writing.
- Adaptive and self-help skills. Dressing, feeding, routines, and the daily independence that makes family life easier.
- Caregiver coaching. Every session builds what you do between sessions, in your own home and routines.
Early intervention works best when it starts early. Families of newly identified infants and toddlers are always welcome, and there is no diagnosis requirement to reach out with a question.

Partnering with private and charter schools
Qualified DHH staffing is hard to find. Hear Talk Grow contracts directly, on a schedule that fits your building.
- Direct itinerant services for enrolled students.
- Classroom listening environment and acoustic accessibility review.
- Hearing technology troubleshooting, daily listening checks, and remote microphone support.
- Teacher and staff in-services on hearing loss, technology, and communication access.
- Student self-advocacy instruction across grade levels.
- IEP support. Drafting and monitoring listening, speech, and language goals, recommending accommodations, and attending IEP meetings as the DHH provider.
- Section 504 plan support. Identifying the accommodations a student needs for equal access, and helping the team write them into the plan.
- Progress reporting written to satisfy IEP and 504 documentation requirements.

Good to know
Who do you serve?
Children from birth through grade twelve who are deaf or hard of hearing, including children with hearing aids, cochlear implants, bone-conduction devices, unilateral hearing loss, and auditory neuropathy spectrum disorder. Families of newly identified infants are always welcome; earlier is better.
Children whose language delay comes from another source are served too, through special education services and Developmental Special Instruction.
Do you only work with children using listening and spoken language?
No. Children who use any communication modality are welcome here, and families are supported in the path they have chosen for their child. What Hear Talk Grow adds is certified expertise in listening and spoken language. If that is part of your child's plan, it is delivered by someone qualified to deliver it.
How is this different from general speech therapy?
Auditory-verbal therapy is a specialized approach that develops spoken language through listening. It requires specific certification (LSLS Cert. AVT) built on top of clinical training, and it centers caregivers as the child's primary language teachers. Technology management, auditory hierarchy, and family coaching are woven into every session.
Do you accept ESA funds?
Yes. Hear Talk Grow is able to accept Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) funds, and self-pay options are also available. Reach out and we will sort out which option fits your family.
What happens in a typical session?
Sessions are play-based and conversation-based, built around targets in audition, speech, language, cognition, and communication. Caregivers participate, practice the strategies in real time, and leave with a plan for the week. Progress is tracked session to session.
